Buying Atlas America insurance in California
Residents of California must note that Atlas America insurance Provider is not licensed by the State of California as the insurance provider is called “non admitted” or “surplus line”. This means that the insurance company does not participate in the insurance guarantee funds created by California Law and insured claims will not be paid by the funds if the insurance company is unable to pay as promised.
However the customer will face this risk only if the insurance company is financially unable to pay their liabilities and this depends on their financial stability. The financial stability of a company is reflected by the insurance provider rating and having an AM rating of “A” and above indicates that the company is very stable and able to settle customer claims.
