  • Participating as a member of a team in an organized sporting competition or participating as a professional in a stunt, athletic or sporting event or competition; participating in skydiving or parachuting, parasailing, hang gliding, bungee cord jumping, extreme skiing, skiing outside marked trails or heli-skiing, mountaineering, any race, speed contests not including any of the regatta races, spelunking or caving, hot air ballooning, or scuba diving if the depth exceeds 120 feet (40 meters) or if you are not certified to dive and a dive master is not present during the dive;
  • Piloting or learning to pilot or acting as a member of the crew of any aircraft; being intoxicated or under the influence of any controlled substance unless as administered or prescribed by a legally qualified physician;
  • The commission of or attempt to commit a felony or being engaged in an illegal occupation; normal childbirth or pregnancy (except complications of pregnancy) or voluntarily induced abortion;
  • Dental treatment (except as coverage is otherwise specifically provided herein);
  • Amounts which exceed the maximum benefit amount for each coverage as shown in the Schedule of Benefits;
  • Due to a pre-existing condition, as defined in the plan documents. The pre-existing condition limitation does not apply to the emergency medical evacuation or return of remains coverage; any amount paid or payable under any worker’s compensation, disability benefit or similar law;
  • A loss or damage caused by detention, confiscation or destruction by customs;
  • Elective treatment and procedures;
  • Medical treatment during or arising from a trip undertaken for the purpose or intent of securing medical treatment;
  • An assessment from a legally qualified physician advising you in writing that you, a traveling companion, family member or business partner booked to travel with you are not medically fit to travel, as defined in the plan documents, at the time of purchase of coverage for a trip.

  • Benefits are not payable for any loss caused by or resulting from: Breakage of brittle or fragile articles;
  • Wear and tear or gradual deterioration; confiscation or appropriation by order of any government or custom’s rule;

What are some of the covered reasons for trip cancellation benefits?

Generally all plans would cover specific covered reasons like Sickness, Injury or Death, Felonious Assault, Court Ordered Appearance, Military Duty for Natural Disaster Relief, Jury Duty, Termination/Layoff, Strike, Weather, Hijacking, Terrorist Incident, Traffic Accident, Bankruptcy/Default, Quarantine and Residence Uninhabitable. However travelers should check the policy documents carefully before buying the policy.

Will my travel insurance plan cover me for Covid-19?

If you have included covid-19 coverage in the policy you will be provided covid-19 coverage. In an event of contracting the illness or ordered into quarantine from an authorized person, reimbursement of medical expenses and trip costs may be given. Contact the travel insurance provider for more details.

How is Trip Cancellation different from Trip Interruption?

Trip cancellation is a benefit that is available when the trip is canceled before the journey begins or the start date of the insurance policy. Trip interruption is a benefit that begins after the journey begins.

Can I cancel the plan if I change my mind?

Yes, one can cancel the policy within the 14-day free window period from the effective date of the insurance or the scheduled departure date. The insurance provider will process the refund of the premium paid as long as there has been no claim under the policy.

What does the trip cost cover?

The trip cost should provide coverage for non-refundable payment made for the trip. In case of any sudden cancellation of the trip, the cost paid for air tickets, hotel reservations, tour costs etc. would be covered. Those are otherwise non- refundable.

Cancel for any reason is an extra rider that needs to be included while purchasing the Round-trip Choice plan. CFAR must be purchased within 20 days of the initial payment date of the travel. Iam extending my travel, can I renew or extend my coverage of travel insurance?

Unfortunately trip plans cannot be renewed or extended. In case if you need to extend the trip plan a fresh policy needs to be brought for the period of your stay.

Yes, the insurance policy will begin the day after you have purchased your policy and offer coverage for extra riders like trip cancellation earlier to the departure date.

Seven Corners Trip Cancellation insurance for Coronavirus Covid19

Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR)- An optional benefit you can add to RoundTrip Choice for an additional cost. CFAR pays 75% of your nonrefundable trip cost if you cancel your trip for any reason you choose.
You must meet these requirements to make a CFAR claim with our RoundTrip plans:
  1. Cancel your trip 2 days or more before your scheduled departure date (your trip start date).
  2. Buy the insurance plan with CFAR coverage within 20 days of the date your initial trip deposit is received.
  3. Insure all nonrefundable prepaid trip costs (including the cost of subsequent travel arrangements added to your trip within 15 days of paying for them).
The trip protection plans do not include a specific covered reason that will allow you to cancel your trip for fear of travel due to COVID.
Trip Interruption Coverage
Benefits may include coverage for Trip Interruption if an insured interrupts their trip for an applicable covered reason. Possible covered reasons include:
  • Quarantine
