Travel Guard Insurance, Travel Guard administered Travel Guard Insurance covers Trip delay, interruption and cancellation


Travel Guard is an affordable, made to order travel insurance plan that allows you to choose the coverages and limits you want to meet your travel needs. Travel Guard automatically includes basic travel insurance coverages for trip cancellation, interruption and delay; emergency medical expense and evacuation coverage; lost, stolen, damaged or delayed baggage. You can buy the basic plan, or create your own policy by adding optional coverages, limits and special services.
Pre-Existing Condition Definition - "Pre-Existing Condition" means any injury, sickness or condition of the Insured, Traveling Companion, Family Member booked to travel with the Insured for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended or received within the 180 day period ending on the Effective Date. Conditions are not considered preexisting if the condition for which prescribed drugs or medicine is taken remains controlled without any change in the required prescription.

Travel Guard Insurance benefits


Travel Guard plan automatically includes coverage for:

  • Trip cancellation, interruption and delay
  • Medical expenses and emergency medical evacuation
  • Lost, stolen or damaged baggage and travel documents
  • Luggage delay


Trip Cancellation


Covers your travel investment if you cancel your trip for a covered reason.

Trip Interruption - $1,000


Covers the additional transportation expenses incurred by the Insured to the Return Destination if the $0 trip cost is selected.

Trip Delay - $500


Reimburses you up to $100 a day for additional accommodations or travel expenses if you are delayed for more than 12 hours.

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Baggage & Personal Effects - $500/$1,000/$1,500


Reimburses you if your luggage is lost, damaged, or stolen while you are on your trip. Base plan includes $500 with $50 deductible; upgrade available to $1,000 or $1,500 and deductible is waived. Allows you to choose primary or secondary coverage.

Baggage Delay - $100/$200


Reimburses you for the purchase of essential items if your bags are delayed for more than 24 hours. Base plan includes $100; upgrade available to $200.

$Medical Expenses - 10,000/$25,000/$50,000


Covers necessary medical expenses up to one year after the sickness or injury, provided you sought initial medical treatment while on your trip. Base plan includes $10,000 with $50 deductible; upgrade available to $25,000 or $50,000 and deductible is waived. Allows you to choose primary or secondary coverage.

Emergency Medical Transportation - $100,000/$1 million


Covers evacuation and transportation to the nearest adequate medical facility. Base plan includes $100,000; upgrade available to $1 million; upgrade to hospital of choice or home also available.

Exclusions


  1. Pre-Existing Conditions (This exclusion does not apply if this coverage was purchased within fifteen calendar days of initial Trip deposit, you are not disabled at the time you pay the cost and if Coverage for Terrorism, Bankruptcy and Prex is purchased);
  2. Suicide or attempted suicide or intentionally self-inflicted injuries;
  3. War, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (whether declared or not), civil war;
  4. Participation in any military maneuver or training exercise;
  5. Piloting or learning to pilot or acting as a member of the crew of any aircraft (does not apply if Adventure Sports Coverage is purchased);
  6. Mental or emotional disorders;
  7. Dental treatment except as a result of Accidental Injury to sound, natural teeth within twelve (12) months of the Accidental Injury;
  8. Pregnancy and childbirth (except for Complication of Pregnancy);
  9. Riot or insurrection;
  10. A loss that results from an illness, disease, or other condition, event, or circumstance which occurs at a time when the coverage is not in effect for You;
