Immigrant Health Insurance

Immigrants in any foreign nation are not considered as citizens of that nation and are usually not able to avail domestic health insurance coverage. These persons are quite vulnerable without health insurance, particularly in America where the health care costs are so huge. Persons with green cards, moreover, are no longer considered temporary visitors and may not be eligible for all short term visitor plans. These new immigrant will find our compare facility convenient to review different options and to select a policy that will be most appropriate for them. Customers can also call on us anytime to review the options.

Travel Health Insurance

If you are in the United States, you can purchase travel or trip insurance to cover the non-reimbursable part of special trip or cruise. The price of the insurance will depend on the age of the persons being insured and the cost of the trip you wish to insure. The insurance should be purchased soon after any down payment on the trip and in so doing, you will cover any pre-existing medical conditions you may have. If you have to cancel your trip for a covered reason, you will be paid for 100% to 150% of the cost of the trip you insured. If you go on your trip, then you and any other persons on the policy will be covered for medical insurance. The medical insurance is usually for a low amount (about $50,000 maximum), but has no deductible.

American Visitor Health Insurance for Travel to Europe

Travel to the Europe has been made easier thanks to the Schengen visa which allows travel among several nations without needing separate visas for each one. This Schengen visa, however, requires travelers to have adequate health insurance to cover sudden illness and medical emergencies. Fortunately, we have several policies for this purpose which can be purchased quickly and conveniently on line with insurance documents delivered electronically within the hour. Should you not get the visa or decide to cancel your trip, you will get a full refund for your insurance policy so long as you cancel the policy before it is supposed to start. The dates of the policy can be easily shifted to accommodate changes in plans. Policies are quite economical and can be as low as $1 per day for most travelers.

American Visitor Health Insurance for Indians

For the close to three million strong Indian American community residing in the United States, there is now very accessible and economical health insurance coverage when they have visitors planning to stay in the US for a sojourn. Typical US employer insurance policies will not cover parents or in-laws on an existing policy. Only spouses and children can be covered on such a policy. However, we have a variety of insurance policies that can cover persons for their stay in the US from as few as 5 days up to 12 months. Simply use our convenient and fast compare facility to review your options. If you have questions, feel free to call one of our helpful agents who can walk you through the options and make some suggestions based on your visitors’ information.

Health Insurance for American Visitors from China

Travelers from China cannot purchase domestic US policies unless they can get one through an employer. Short term visitors must purchase policies to cover sudden medical expenses that may arise during their trip. Policies are available for a wide range of ages and needs. Our compare facility allows you to see all options available and compare prices to find and compare the benefits of each one.

American Visitor Health Insurance to USA

Health insurance for American visitors is an essential component of any trip planned for the US. Anyone can be in an accident at any time and the price of medical health care in the US makes it very likely that a large bill can be incurred with even a short stay in the hospital. In order to safe guard ones’ savings and equity, it is prudent to purchase insurance for long term visitors in case of emergency or accident. Policies can be purchased quickly and easily online from whatever country you may be in. Foreign travelers should have at least $100,000 maximum coverage (foreign students are often required to have $250,000 in insurance). Underinsuring your visitors may be just as bad a mistake as not insuring them at all.

Foreign Student Health Insurance

Foreign students in the United States are required by their visas and their universities to have proper health insurance. These requirements often vary by state and institution, so if you want to discuss options with an agent, be sure you have your requirements handy to review them. Also, some policies have been set up specifically for students and they often have very good coverage for very good prices. These policies are good for undergraduates, graduates and even Optional Practical Training (OPT) students and exchange program professors and other professionals. Often they simply require some institutional affiliation for them to be purchased.

International visitors health insurance

Some travelers spend so much time in different countries that it would be time consuming and inefficient to purchase medical insurance for each individual trip. Americans who travel frequently may be able to purchase multi-trip insurance which will cover them for a set number of days spent outside the US. It is purchased for a year at a time and will cover all trips taken within that year. These plans usually require the insured to have a primary domestic insurance provider for that same year. Another option is to purchase a global or international health insurance policy that will work in any country. These are major medical insurance products that are renewable year after year and simply travel with you wherever you may go. For US citizens, you may be required to leave the US at least 6 months each year; for other nationalities there are usually no limits to time spent in the US.

Visitor Visa Health Insurance

Visitors with any type of visa can purchase American visitor health insurance plans available at our site. If you have specific requirements due to your visa or institution, then you must make sure the plan you choose meets these requirements. Many visa types (tourist, fiancée, etc) do not have specific requirements, so any product should be fine for these cases.

American Visitor Health Insurance Online

You can review options for health insurance for American visitors online very easily and conveniently. Prices will be compared and a short list of benefits compared so just the right policy can be chosen. Also, the full brochure of each policy as well as links to PPO networks can be accessed from this same table. Note that PPO networks are only an issue in the US; also you are never required to only use PPO networks, although some policies offer incentives (reduced coinsurance) when you do. With all the information we provide, some customers complain that it is too much. However, our friendly agent staff is here to help you through your options should you want to chat with someone about it.

Visitors Insurance Resources

When you purchase insurance, you must consider first the time span of the visit. If the visit will be less than 12 months, then a visitor policy is best since it can be tailored to the length of the visit. The next thing to consider is the maximum coverage of the policy required. Many foreigners underinsure themselves possibly because they are not aware of the very high cost of medical care in the US. As a rule, we recommend at least $100,000 maximum for any visitor (if possible) although students are often required to have $250,000 maximum. You must decide if you want a fixed policy or a comprehensive policy. At ages under 30 years, the price is so similar, we always recommend a comprehensive policy. Comprehensive policies offer much better coverage (all you pay is deductible and a percent of coinsurance), so these are always better than fixed policies if they fit your budget. Fixed policies only cover a set amount for each medical expense and any costs higher then that must be paid by the insured; so that, you may be left with a very high medical bill and you will not know that until you get an itemized bill from your provider. However, for small things, a fixed plans should work fairly well. With larger bills, a comprehensive plan would be best, so you must decide what you want to insure yourself against. The deductible for fixed plans is generally low and should not be lowered since you may end up paying out of pocket regardless particularly for large bills. The deductible for comprehensive plans can be increased to $500, $1000 or even $2500 to reduce your cost but still offer good coverage of the large, unexpected bill. Generally, if you choose to go with a fixed plan, we recommend as high a maximum as you can go (higher maximums mean higher fixed amounts covered for each medical expense) and a high deductible to save you some money on premium. If you go with a comprehensive plan, then choose at least $100,000 maximum and as high a deductible as you are comfortable with to save money.
